YuX Phasey his most accessible record imo. A must for ambient freaks. Favorite track: Harmony in Blue II. jellemeeze One of my favourites for bike rides on cloudy days. Harmony in Ultraviolet is the fourth studio album by Canadian electronic music musician Tim Hecker, released on October 16, 2006, on Kranky. The album was generally praised by critics, with Pitchfork Media writer Mark Richardson saying Harmony in Ultraviolet is sensual body music of a very particular kind, and it's the sort of record that asks a lot. But if you trust it and go along, it knows exactly where to lay its hands. All tracks are written by Tim Hecker. Kranky's Harmony in Ultraviolet page. Album 2006 15 Songs. Harmony In Ultraviolet Tim Hecker. Canadian Tim Hecker has been a respected force on the electronica scene since his debut Haunt Me Haunt Me, Do It Again, came out in 2001 in addition to his work as Jetone. Since then, he has consistently released experimental ambient music that broadens standard compositional barriers while still remaining accessible, and such is the case with Harmony in Ultraviolet, Hecker's fourth full-length. Harmony in Ultraviolet contains some of Tim's most layered and beautiful, sometimes terrifying ambient pieces to date It also manages to avoid a lot of the problems that plagued his previous works. Least Fav Track: Palimpsest I & II. Score: 9. 2 Outstanding. 15 tracks 49:53. This album is one of a kind and a verry good but all you out there if you dont like this music and the artist don't buy,and go destroy a marschmallow,do not say this is bad if you not understand music is love or hate or in between,it takes time to love and feel the passion of. the artists music. i just say thanks to TIM HECKER. Responder Notifique-me 4 Helpful. 7 de abril de 2010. Tim Hecker Format: Audio CD. Please retry. First Tim Hecker album I've bought. I am very happy with it. There is a lot of variation despite being ambientnoise. Dungeoneering is probably the standout track more intensity, faster paced but I would not cherry pick it off this album because the other tracks are necessary to pull you in full circle. I might try Haunt Me Haunt Me Do It Again next because the samples on youtube seem pretty good. Read more

Absolute mother-bleepin classic this one. I like the reviewer below podunk's description of this as a roiling, boiling ocean of noice - 'harmony in ultraviolet' is such an apt name when you listen to the music.

if this is his best yet.. god help me. what a complete disappointment this was, with all the reviews & build up given about over exposure on a one trick pony... was going to buy "ain' talkin''bout love" cause i've a closet affection for Dave Lee Roth, but instead settled on this purely because the reviews across the world echoed brillance beyond heaven's gate. Where in the name of insanity is the orginality? i'd advise (a) purchasing electronica from some complete unknown drone ambient bedsitter - this works far better than reading the public's none informative reviews. (b) keeping your money & spending it elsewhere like on sleeping tablets or glue - this works far better than crying yourself into a sorrowfully hell surrounded by a collection of mediocre cds & nursing a broken soul. Buy blind Buy cheap Buy underground .. oo-eer!!

I’m not dissing u fr writin a load of shit about a truely great album....u were just naive and weren’t to know. Try not to feel shame n il giv u no blame

You could have saved yourself the trouble and written a more succinct review:"I bought this CD, but I don't like this kind of music. Waaaaah!!" I guess you think you're being funny, but you've provided nothing to qualify your review. The only statement you make with even a scrap of meat to it is your contention that Hecker is unoriginal. So... if Hecker is unoriginal, who does he copy?

Wot? No-one reviewed this yet? Absolutely top album. Hecker's best yet. A roiling, boiling ocean of sky scraping noise. Ambient I guess but the complete opposite of any sleep inducing drift or melancholic darkness. HIU makes one feel like 1000volts are being zapped between left and right earphones straight through your cranium - ECT for the IDM generation. An ecstatic orgasm of noise. Excellent, organic production job too. Can he top this gem? HIU is the Fennesz sound of Venice revved up to a whole new level. Check out Radio Amor too which is also a beautiful weather front of sound although considerably more minimal.
