Tough the performance of the 1979 show is absolutely great, it feels that the album is a bit of a patchwork with many bits her. The University of Kent, 1979, for the Rock Goes To College TV program. Now an unimaginable feat, most of Steve Hillages albums made it into the UKs Top 50 back in the 70s, and his type of intellectual music found much favor with students making the axeman a perfect performer for BBCs Rock Goes To College series. Appearing at the University of Kent to promote the recent Live Herald album, Hillage didnt stick to its repertory, though, and opted for shorter, yet more focused, set which, on record, preserves a flow into the unknown for posterity. Steve HILLAGE Live In England 1979 CD & DVD. Audio CD December 17, 2013. This is an absolutely essential album for all you lovers of quality, featuring 40 minutes of Steve and the band recorded live in front of a boisterous crowd at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK in early 1979. Both audio cd and dvd were taken from a much-loved BBC TV programme 'Rock goes to College', a weekly or monthly programme from the mid-seventies, featuring the more 'underground' bands of the day, broadcast around 6 pm on BBC 2. The whole concert would be filmed and then spliced to fit 40 minute broadcasts

Main cover photo could be misleading as to the period, even when it´s clearly dated and with insert photos from the1979 concert.
Sound levels waver now and then on CD. Still...............it´s GREAT!
