Album

Wild is the fourth studio album by British band Erasure. Released in 1989, it was the follow-up album to their 1988 breakthrough The Innocents. The album was produced by Erasure, along with Gareth Jones and Mark Saunders and released by Mute Records in the UK and Sire Records in the US. Although the album did not generate any entries on the Billboard Hot 100, Wild is highly regarded amongst Erasure's fanbase as one of their best albums, containing now-classic singles like Drama, Blue Savannah. It was while promoting the Wild album that Erasure launched the first of their many elaborately staged concert tours - this one featuring gigantic sets and props and several costume changes for band members Vince Clarke and Andy Bell, as well as several back-up singers and dancers. Track listing. Originally released in October 1989, the classic Erasure album Wild is the bands fourth album and their 2nd UK number one. Featuring the four hit singles 'Drama','You Surround Me','Blue Savannah' and 'Star' the album is re-mastered and re-issued as a deluxe 2CD version in a hard back media book format with rare images, original photography by Pierre et Gilles and brand new sleeve notes. An exclusive bonus disc features five unreleased tracks including a brand new remix by Richard Norris The Grid, Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve, a recently discover. Following the commercial and critical success of The Innocents, Erasure sidestepped slightly on Wild, with slightly mixed results. On the one hand, the by-now-established Erasure song formula resulted in a number of tunes sounding like revamps of earlier numbers, diminishing the overall impact. How Many Times is a ballad by numbers, while, some amusing bitchiness from Bell aside, 2000 Miles is nice but a timekiller. One or two other cuts fall into this category, making Wild something of a choppy affair at best
